It made sense that the Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo would become a world leading tire manufacturer with Sumitomo Tires, after all Sumitomo Rubber is one of the world’s top rubber producing companies. The Sumitomo Tire Company manufactures a variety of vehicle tires – from high performance car tires to high performance medium to heavy truck tires. The tire industry is a very competitive business, with rival companies like Bridgestone, BF Goodyear, etc dominating the market. Getting your own niche in the business can be difficult. Sumitomo tires, however, has managed to manipulate its way into the industry to become one of the largest manufacturers of tires in the world. The company did this by producing high quality, professionally built tires that were, and still are, affordable to consumers. Below are two examples of Sumitomo tires:
The high performance HTRZ111 is designed to give maximum performance in all driving conditions. A five rib tread pattern allows straight-line stability, even when cornering. The tire has four wide grooves within the tread that evacuate water quickly keeping it from drifting on wet roads. This tire is ideal for long distance drivers who have time restraints. Another high performance tire is the HTR Sport H/P. This tire is ideal for SUV or a light truck - although they can be fitted to a sedan. These tires are designed to perform well with light loads in all weather situations. Reversible side walls means the tire can be switched to give even tread wear. The tire is center ribbed and the tread, like the above tire, has straight line stability at all speeds.
Sumitomo tires are generally considered by most dealers and many consumers as trustworthy tires – tires that any vehicle owner can depend on, tires that are priced well and designed to give longevity. These days Sumitomo are leading the tire wars, with sales steady increasing with consumers opting to purchase Sumitomo tires rather than any other brands. Rival companies are on the heels of Sumitomo offering all kinds of incentives to lure would-be customers into their clutches. As for car racing – Formula One and Two, etc Sumitomo tires have yet to make their mark in that world, but I envisage the day approaching when race tracks with have more banners advertising Sumitomo than any other tire company. Sumitomo is a huge Corporation based in Osaka, Japan. The company has its proverbial finger in many business pies and Sumitomo tires are one company that is continually expanding its manufacturing techniques and technology.
